Word of the Day: Hurkle-Durkle

Our very first word of the day will be a fun little expression I have seen passed about on social media.

Hurkle-Durkle.

This phrase, sadly, is not in the database of Dictionary.com. However, it does not mean that this super fun word’s definition cannot be found.

The joy of the word Hurkle-Durkle comes from the Scots! It is a verb which means to lay around in bed long after you should have gotten up. My kind of word!

Haggard Hawks has a lovely write up of our new little friend, with all it’s history attached.

Will you hurkle-durkle tomorrow morning or are you more of a rise and shine kind of person? Let me know on the word of the day instagram post!
